I was born and raised in St. Thomas Virgin Islands. My father moved the family to New York City when I was about 9 years old. I attended Music and High School and was a member of The Boys Choir Of Harlem. I've been modeling and acting since J.H.S. throughout my years in college. I left the industry and became a responsible adult , raised a family and paid bills.
Since returning to the industry I'have been published in over 30 national and international magazines with 8 covers. I' have been featured on New York Time Square Billboard on two occasions, several print ads. I am a brand ambassador for several clothing and lifestyle brands . My biggest accomplishment is being able to give back to the community through my work with kids and the elderly .
After 30 years at my civil service job as a Corrections Captain and Union Delegate working at Rikers Island I finally retired. Working on my job so long I lost my sense of fashion because I was always in uniform. I work 5 days a week , many mandatory 16 hours shift so I went to work in my uniform and came home in my uniform while still chasing my dreams. After a long hiatus I decided to re-enter the world of modeling at the age of 54 years young. I felt that older men , women , and big and tall men were not being represented in the industry, so I started a movement in my area and social media to bring awareness to designers, magazines, promoters, and advertising agencies to let them know that we are marketable, spend money, and is relevant in the fashion industry. The industry claims that they are diverse and are not involved in being part of size and age inclusiveness I beg to differ. Thank god for social media, there are several big and tall and over 50 groups formed and is fueling the discussion about size and age inclusiveness and acceptance.
New York City is the fashion capital of the world. If it isn't done here it's not official. I recently completed one of my dream projects by casting and producing my first Ageless Show for models over 40 years old For fashion week New York. I had models from across the nation that attended casting. I see this is the first of many to come. My goal is to inspire and bring like minded people together, and to encourage them to follow their dreams no matter what age.
Never put your eggs in one basket. Don't let society put you in a box by telling you what you can or can't do. Believe in yourself. Go where you are accepted and not tolerated . Keep your determination and persistence high. Patience is not the ability to wait for a change , but having a good attitude while doing so.
